1. Who we are
Intek Websites is operated by Intek Multimedia. For personal data collected through this website and its customer onboarding process, Intek Multimedia determines the purposes for which that data is used in order to provide, administer and support the service.
We aim to handle personal information in accordance with applicable Ghanaian data-protection requirements, including the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number and business or organisation name.
- Your selected website plan, website type, preferred domain, business description, social links and project requirements.
- Content and files you later send us for your website, such as logos, photographs, text, product/service information and contact details.
- Payment references, payment status, amount, payment channel and transaction identifiers returned by our payment processor.
- Service records such as subscription status, due dates, support notes, changes, invoices and project communications.
- Technical information needed for security and operation, such as IP address, browser/user-agent information, session identifiers and server logs.
3. How we use personal information
We use information where reasonably necessary to:
- Review applications and provide the selected website plan.
- Confirm payments and manage monthly subscriptions.
- Register or manage domains, hosting, email and other requested technical services.
- Contact you about your project, billing, renewals, support and service notices.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate submissions and security incidents.
- Maintain accounting, audit, tax and operational records.
- Improve our service, troubleshoot issues and understand how the website is used.
- Comply with lawful requests and applicable legal obligations.
Where consent is required for a particular use, we will seek it as appropriate. You can withdraw a consent-based permission, although that may not affect processing that is otherwise necessary or lawful.
4. When we share information
We do not sell customer personal data. We may share limited information with service providers where needed to operate the service, including payment processors, hosting providers, domain registrars, email providers, communications providers, analytics/security vendors and professional advisers.
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our agreements, protect customers or systems, investigate fraud/abuse, or respond to a valid request from a competent authority.
Service providers receive only the information reasonably required for their role and may be subject to their own privacy terms.
5. Payment information
Initial website payments are completed through Paystack or another payment processor we may identify at checkout. Our landing page is designed so that the payment processor collects sensitive payment credentials directly. We may receive transaction references, status, amount, channel and other confirmation data needed to reconcile your payment, but we do not need to store your full card number or full mobile-money authentication credentials.
6. Cookies, local storage and first-party analytics
The website may use essential session cookies or similar storage so security features, forms and administrative login sessions work correctly. These are used for operational purposes rather than advertising.
We also use a first-party traffic analytics system to understand visits to the Intek Websites landing page and monitor live traffic. It records page views, anonymous random browser/session identifiers, referrer or campaign source, device/browser category, active-session timing and a coarse country code only when our hosting edge provides one. The analytics system does not store visitor IP addresses and does not add third-party advertising pixels. Random browser/session identifiers are transformed before database storage and are used only for aggregated traffic measurement and service improvement.
If we later add third-party advertising, marketing cookies or other tracking that requires additional notice or consent, this policy and the site controls will be updated accordingly.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including providing the active service, maintaining project history, recovering from incidents, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and meeting accounting or legal obligations.
After cancellation or account closure, some records may be retained for a limited period. Backups can persist until they are overwritten through normal retention cycles. When data is no longer reasonably required, we aim to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service, which may include encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls, password hashing, payment verification, server security controls and restricted administrative access.
No internet service is completely risk-free. Customers should protect their own credentials, devices and email accounts and should notify us promptly if they suspect unauthorised access.
9. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and any permitted exceptions, you may have rights to ask what personal data we hold about you, request access, request correction of inaccurate information, object to certain processing, or ask for deletion where appropriate.
To make a privacy request, contact us through the contact details published on intekmultimedia.net or the WhatsApp number shown on the Intek Websites landing page. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You may also have the right to raise concerns with Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
10. International or third-party processing
Some infrastructure or third-party providers may process or store information outside Ghana. Where this occurs, we will take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and applicable law to use providers and arrangements that support appropriate protection of personal information.
11. Children's information
The Intek Websites sales and subscription service is intended for businesses, organisations and adults who are authorised to enter into service arrangements. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children through this application form.
12. Updates to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as the service, technology or legal requirements change. The effective date and version shown at the top identify the version in force. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or customer contact channels.
For privacy questions or requests, contact Intek Multimedia through intekmultimedia.net or the official Intek Websites contact details published on the landing page.
